White Deer Lodge, which was in fact a hunting lodge dating back to the 16th century, sits at the end of an enchanting little road that snakes through the scenic Val Pusteria forest. From atop its hillside perch, the Lodge overlooks multiple mountain ridges of the majestic Dolomites. It is near to the charming village of Bruneck, and 3 hours from both the Venice and Munich airports. The Lodge’s interiors have been charmingly recreated by two of Italy’s leading fashion designers. There are four bedrooms including one with twin bunks for children. There is a traditional Alpine-style stube/pub and a cozy dining room where guests’ have the meals and drinks included in the rental. In spring, summer and fall there are limitless hillside walking and hiking paths, all levels of difficulty or ease. And there’s a truly unique golf course designed by Ron Kirby and Jack Nicklaus for the exclusive use of the Lodge’s guests. In winter, living up to its reputation as Italy’s best ski chalet, skiing (near world-class ski slopes!) and other winter sports are nearby and extraordinary!
