Perched on a cliff on the Amalfi coastline, Villa Astor is a 19th-century showplace built by Ambassador William Waldorf Astor while he was the U.S. Ambassador to Italy. It has a grand architectural style both in and out, and its garden is known as one of the finest in Europe. Inside the villa there are seven grand bedrooms, and scattered throughout gathering areas are priceless Roman columns and statuary as well as rare art. There are panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Amalfi coastline, Naples and Vesuvius.
