Location and Surroundings:

Isla Simca is just off the Pacific Coast of Panama. Guests fly into Panama City and, from there, take an hour flight to the coast. From the property’s mainland dock, they are picked up for the 15-minute boat ride to the Island. Conveniently, Panama is in the same time zone as the U.S. East Coast. In addition to the 278-acre island, the resort’s property includes 18 miles of coastline just across the narrow channel, an additional playground available to Isla Simca’s guests. With this total seclusion, guests are likely to hear nothing more than the sounds of the wind and waves punctuated by the friendly calls of the island’s toucans and howler monkeys. It is, after all, a jungle.

The centerpiece of the residence is the Main Pavilion, which is a soaring glass-enveloped structure housing the owner’s renowned collection of exciting, contemporary African art, a high-ceilinged living room with numerous comfy places to sit or lounge, and the dining room with terrace. Outside is an expansive deck with two large swimming pools, one salt-water and the other fresh. Atop the Main Pavilion is a circular conservatory and deck from which the views of empty seas and islands are a heart-stopping 360 degrees. Guests stay in any one of four buildings around the main pavilion, each bedroom suite with a balcony and wide ocean views.

Experience and Activities:

Land and sea adventures include ATV-riding on 20 miles of challenging trails through the jungle, exploring wildlife-filled mangroves in kayaks, world-class deep-sea fishing, wave runners, horseback riding, snorkeling and SCUBA. Within 15- to 45-minute boat rides of Isla Simca are several other islands, small and larger, with delightful white-sand beaches for private getaways and picnics. Depending on the time of year, humpback whale-sighting is quite possible.
