In recent months, our travels have yielded wonderful finds in Mexico, Italy and -- closer to our own backyard -- in the sprawling, scenic Adirondacks. The owners of these properties recognize the potential for Sanctuare to introduce them to travelers who prefer a unique combination of tranquility and luxury.

Cuixmala is a 25,000-acre ecological reserve of land, lagoons and beaches on the Pacific Coast. Hacienda de San Antonio, tucked away in the highlands of western Mexico, is a majestic, 19th-century homestead. And there are two Sanctuare offerings reserved for just one family or party at a time - Casa Cusenza, just outside of Puerto Vallarta, a masterpiece of contemporary architecture and interior design on its own beach and cove - and the five-suite Hacienda Petac, a beautifully restored 17thcentury home surrounded by the Yucatan's rich Mayan history.
